Robert Henderson - PRP, EPC

Meeting the planning and investment needs of our clients, I regularly find myself advising four generations from the same clan. It is an amazing privilege to be invited into their lives; it is also a huge responsibility, which I take very seriously.”

Robert Henderson was born into the Financial Services Business. His father was a Bank Manager, so the family lived above the Branch. Robert’s early career was also in banking; six years in Ireland, where he was born and raised, then ten in Canada. In 1980, seeking a more independent role, Robert joined the Life Insurance Industry, and in 1987 he founded Robert Henderson and Associates Inc. A few years later, seeing an emerging need, he deepened his scope with Lifestyle Guidance.

Fully alive to the constant need to stay abreast of changes in his industry, and society around him, Robert routinely attends professional development courses, educational conferences and in-person information sessions with the Global Money Managers he uses. He also continues to build on a lifelong interest in counseling, (early training at Regent College, the Art and Science of Coaching through Erickson College, and ongoing interest in Hospice work) with formal designations as a Professional Retirement Planner (PRP) and Elder Planning Counselor (EPC). Robert was the President of the BC Chapter of RPAC (Retirement Planning Association of Canada) for two years, as well as the Vancouver Convention Chair.

While passionate about his professional interests, Robert actively incorporates other activities to keep his life in balance: hobby farming (at various times he owned a Registered Hereford cattle operation, a pig farm, and an organic orchard), plus landscaping and horticulture. He is also a voracious reader, independent film and documentary enthusiast, and actively supports numerous charities and social-issues organizations including the Chilliwack Hospice Society, The Canadian Alzheimer’s Society, The Canadian Cancer Society, Greenpeace Canada, Amnesty International, Earthsave Canada and Land Conservancy of BC.
